A/Prof Rowbotham AO is a haematologist with a career-long interest in patient centred healthcare and the contribution of diagnostics to healthcare. She has served on four major advisory committees to the Federal Government in these areas and currently chairs the National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council (NPAAC) which advises Australian governments on the accreditation of pathology laboratories.

In addition she is currently:

· a member of ISO 15189 Core drafting team

· director of RCPA Quality Assurance Programs Pty Ltd, a major national and international provider of programs

· Chair of the Avant Mutual Group, Avant Insurance Ltd and the Doctors Health Fund.

She is a former Director of Haematology at Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology, part of the Sonic Healthcare group, past President RCPA, past long serving chair AMA Federal Council and Associate Professor of Cellular and Molecular Pathology at The University of Queensland
